Faculty of Solution Focused Practice

The solution focused approach is applicable to the fields of management, business, consultancy, coaching, coaching psychology, mentoring, counselling and therapy.

Over the past two decades members of this faculty have published a range of articles and books including the Solution-Focused Therapy (O'Connell, 1998), Solution-Focused Stress Counselling (O'Connell, 2001) Handbook of Solution-Focused Therapy (O'Connell & Palmer, 2003). The recent book co-authored by three members of the Faculty is Solution Focused Coaching in Practice (O'Connell, Palmer & Williams, 2012).

The Faculty supports the work of the International Academy and Centres. Our coaching, psychological coaching and coaching psychology courses are recognised by the International Society for Coaching Psychology. 

​

We also offer the Certificate in Work Based Professional Development (Solution Focused Practice) programme which is a distance learning programme. Students are provided with academic supervision in assist them in their self-directed studies.

​
